President Ram Nath Kovind, PM Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Governors’ Conference on the role of NEP2020 in transforming higher education today. During the inaugural session, the President Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji mentioned how the proper implementation #NEP2020 will result in making #India a global superpower. He also pointed out how #NEP with a focus on 21st-century skills and vocational educationwill eventually transform the Indian youth into better and informed global citizens. He brought everyone’s attention to the views & theories of Gandhi Ji laid out in the #NationalEducationPolicy in terms of more attention & focus to be given to continuous research & knowledge creation.
He asserted to everyone that #NEP’s success depends on the collaboration of all departments and dignitaries involved. In the session, PM Shri Narendra Modi ji highlighted how the #NationalEducationPolicy is being accepted nationwide & has received a positive response from all States/UTs. He mentioned that #NEP2020 lays out a framework required for an #AatmanirbharBharat by focusing on critical thinking, individual interests & aptitude of a learner, foundational learning, better learning outcomes along with proper professional development of faculty via teacher training initiatives.
Narendra Modi ji also stated that #NEP2020 will discourage the redundant ‘one size fits all’ approach in education by empowering students at every level of their education. He emphasized on how the Academic Bank of credit for students would be a game-changer in the coming years.
The Prime Minister indicated that the #vocational exposure & practical learning promised in #NEP2020 will help #India acquire more space in the global job market & will tackle the current scenario of brain drain. According to him, #NEP will stimulate healthy competition amongst Indian HEIs, leading to a better overall performance of universities nationwide. He concluded his speech by inviting support from every state’s concerned departments for smooth & proper implementation of the #NEP2020.
