Eentennial walk from the Proctor Office, University of Lucknow to Chancellor’s Residence Raj Bhawan. The event was organized and led by Dr. Neeraj Jain, ex-president, Lucknow University Athletic Association. In the centennial walk Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Proctor Prof. Dinesh Kumar and many other faculty member alongwith several students participated. The walk ended at Raj Bhawan where Chancellor of University of Lucknow and the Governor of Uttar Pradesh welcomed everyone and conveyed good wishes to everyone present in the event. The Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, while addressing a team of 200 people who traveled on foot from University campus to Raj Bhavan under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai on the occasion of Centenary Day celebrations of Lucknow University, said that yoga, sports and physical practice Be a part of your life. Make a rule to walk daily in the morning. Include it in your life.
While congratulating the centenary year, the Governor said that Lucknow University has a 100-year journey, make it memorable. Make children realize their talent. Work together and accept each other’s qualities, only then will the country move forward. Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given the country a high place in the world with his unique ability. He said that by working together, the university will also progress.
Mrs. Patel said that various programs should be organized for the students in the university and students should be taken on educational journey. Give them an opportunity to make all the necessary preparations related to travel. Provide teacher support and guidance in learning, learning and doing new things. This will develop a sense of confidence and leadership qualities among the students. She said that students from rural, tribal and all the areas come to study in universities. Create such an environment in the university that children coming from backward areas can study without stress.
The university padayatra team included the Vice Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai along with teachers and students. The Governor also invited the Padayatra to visit the gardens, gardens, cowsheds of the Raj Bhavan.
Thereafter, at 8.30 am plantation drive was organized in the University campus in which Honourbale Vice Chancellor, Prof. Alok Kumar Rai initiated the plantation drive by planting saplings in front of Human Resource Development Center, University of Lucknow. Students of Prakriti, the nature wing, of Zoology department student club (Vitals), undertook centennial plantation of 100 Palash trees. Palash or Tesu or Butea monosperma is the state plant of Uttar Pradesh and is known for its beautiful ochre red flowers that bloom near Holi. It is culturally significant for its use in colours of Holi. It is economically significant for its leaves are used to make pattal. It is medicinally important as the bark of this tree has bone strengthening properties. The students have undertaken not only the plantation but also the care of these trees till they grow and flourish. The students were supported in their endeavours by Dr. Geetanjali Mishra, Associate Professor of Zoology.
Today at 9:30am the 2nd Heritage walk of the University of Lucknow started from Bhaurao deras Dwar. After the Covid -19 relaxation we again get to see international tourist in Lucknow. Among the first to arrive are from spain ,Ms.Natalia Ana Gomez & Mr. Rahul De La Rose . While taking the Tanga joy ride our Spanish guest had some beautiful Glimpse of LUCKNOW UNIVERSITY heritage which includes our historic Lal Baradari , Prestigious Tagore Library & the very much known for his architecture the Arts Quardange ,Thentire Heritage walk was successful completed in one hour. When Dr. Anupama Srivastava coordinator of Institute of Tourism Studies came to know about the arrival of spanish visitors to the city she offered them to join the Centennial hertiage walk to the University which they accepted immediately . Inspite if their tight Intinerary of the City Tour they Enthusiasticly Participated in our Centennial Hertiage walk. Our other distuingshed guest for the walk we had some industry expert like Mr.Sameer Sharma ,Manager India Oman Air & Mr. Aamir nazar , MD of Travel Help along with our students and faculty members. Our Spanish guest were take care by Mr. Ajay jain ,MD walt tour & Travel limited along with Mr. sanjay. Prof. Piyush Bhargav along with Prashant Chaudhary, and Yash have the historic commentary of the University. Prof. Nalini Pandey, Dr. Shambhavi Mishra, Mandavi Srivastava, Dr. Sudheer Mishra and Sanjay Singh were also present along with students.
In the third day of the Science fest today, poster making and collage making competition was also held in which students from faculty of science participated with full rigour. Apart from that real demonstration of different aspects of principles of physics such as vibrational motion, fluid movement, laws of reflection had been show-casted by Dr. R. K. Mitra. In addition, the stalls of different departments displayed new developments in different parts of science.
