Himanshu Bajpai is a storyteller, author and journalist. He writes about the society and culture of the city of Lucknow. He is a well-known artist of Daastangoi – the medieval form
of oral storytelling in Urdu. Bajpai performed his beautiful “daastaan-e-tamanna-e-sarfaroshi”, a narration of the story of Kakori Revolution.
He told the extremely well researched story or Asfaqullah Khan and Ram Prasad Bismil, and how they tried to pull off one of the biggest heists against a foreign government all those years ago. He spoke of the frienship of between the two, and how they lived their lives as an example of Hindu-Muslim unity. It was a beautiful performance, streamed LIVE on the University’s official YouTube channel where more than one thousand people watched it.
