On the occasion of the Centennial celebrations of University of Lucknow, a hockey match was organized in the week-long program on 23 November 2020 in the sports complex of Lucknow University on Monday. In the inauguration of this match, Honorable Vice Chancellor, Lucknow University, Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Registrar Mr. Vinod Singh, Proctor, Professor Dinesh Kumar, Superintendent of Works Department, Prof. Durgesh Kumar Srivastava, Secretary of Lucknow University Athletic Association, Professor Desh Deepak, Lucknow University Athletic Association Two former chairman Prof KK Aggarwal Pawan Aggarwal and Dr. Neeraj Jain of Lucknow University’s Department of Physical Education were present.
Famous players of Indian hockey team participated in this hockey match, who have won many medals by playing various international hockey matches and increasing the pride of the country. Some of them have been Olympians. Shri Ravindra Pal received a gold medal for India in the Olympic Games in 1980. Sujeet Kumar (Olympian), Rajneesh Mishra (International Hockey Player), Dhyanchand’s son Devendra Dhyanchand, Indian Hockey Team Goalkeeper Negi Ji, Rizvi G (International Hockey Player) and Mukul Shah etc. are famous hockey players of Lucknow University Hockey Team Played a 20:20 minute hockey match with boys and girls to encourage them.
