On the final day of the centennial celebration of University of Lucknow, in the Literacy event organized at Malviya Sabhagaar, poetry reading by campus poets was organized. In this event students as well as some faculty members participated. The program was started with the performances of students in which Shivam was the first student who started his presentation with his poetry “Vakt kam hai to chaliye shuru kiya jaye” and ended with a poetry “hame nirantar chalna hoga” which he dedicated to former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpai. Thererafter, Jyotsna Singh presented “pyasi zami lahoo saara pila diya” and “jaa raha hoon door duniya se bichad kar”. Udai Raj Singh sang “kya paaya hamne” while Harshit Mishra presented “Man main sapne bhang chadhaye firte hain”, “baadal barso aise gaaon main”. Mridul Pandey, thereafter presented “hai badli disha hawaaon mein”. Alok Ranja then showcasted “”kaviyon ki vaani me surya ka saath mile and “kaayam inn andheron main”. Riya Kumari sang a song “aie vatan bharat hamara, tu hamari jaan hai”. Shalin Singh presented a poetry in English “University is 100 years old”. Divya Tiwari then presented “Yah kalamkaar ki duniya hai”.
Thereafter, many other students especially belonging to Faculty of Arts presented their compositions which was then followed by novel compositions of some faculty members such as Professor Ram Sumer Yadav, Professor Y. P. Singh, Dr. Krishna Ji Srivastava. In the meantime honourable Vice Chancellor, University of Lucknow joined the program and appreciated the efforts of students and faculty members for participation in this event. He himself also presented his composition, which was inspired by noted hindi poet Shree Ramdhari Singh “Dinkar”. After this Honourable Vice Chancellor was felicitated with ang-vastra by Professor Nishi Pandey. After this, Dr. Aiaz Ahmad Islahi presented his own urdu compositions such as “maanjhi iss kashti ke talabgaar bahut hain” and Dr. Vineet Kumar Verma also presented some compositions of his own and other like “kya rang hai, roop hai, jamaal hai” from the dias. Other faculty members then also presented their compositions.
The entire event was anchored by Dr. Prashant Kumar Shukla of Philosophy Department and this event had been graced by Professor Rakesh Chandra and Professor Nishi Pandey.
