Lucknow. University of Lucknow and King George’s Medical University, Uttar Pradesh, signed a Memorandum of Understanding today, on 23rd September, 2020. This is the first of its kind academic exchange, research collaboration of allied interest area partnership between two leading institutions of higher learning.
Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Lucknow, Prof. Sudhir Kumar (Head, Department of Zoology), Prof. Arvind Mohan (Dean Academics), Dr. Shalie Malik (Department of Zoology) were present from University of Lucknow’s side and Lt. General. (Dr.) Bipin Puri, Vice Chancellor of KGMU, Prof. RK Garg (Faculty In-charge, Research and MoU Cell), Prof. Samir Mishra (Faculty In-Charge, Legal Cell), Dr. Siddharth Agrawal (Co-Faculty In-charge, MoU Cell), and Dr. Anurag Rai as Coordination for KGMU were present during the event.
The MoU between the University of Lucknow and KGMU is for mutual collaboration to explore the possibility of cooperation, convergence and synergy to have a biological intervention in the field of medical sciences, and prevention of pandemic like Covid 19. The role of each party has been defined in the MoU. The University and KGMU will encourage collaboration in research projects wherein they find any area of mutual interest and activity. UoL and KGMU will provide facilities to faculty members of each other’s institution to explore and prepare joint proposals on thrust areas for funding. Technical activities and grant sharing between UoL and KGMU shall be mutual. The MoU stands out as an example of coordination and cooperation between institutes of the state in an arena of high technology for public services.
