The two days national seminar titled, “ENTRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT: ROADMAP TO EMPLOYMENT GENERATION AND GROWTH” organized by the Department of Commerce, Centre of Excellence in collaboration with the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development UP concluded at the Malviya Hall, University of Lucknow on 19th February 2021. In the valedictory session, Satish Chandra Dwivedi, Minister Independent Charge for Primary Education, Government of U.P was the Chief guest. Justice Dr. D.K. Arora presided the function as the Chairperson. Rohit Manglik, Founder & CEO, Edu-Gorilla was the keynote speaker of the valedictory session.Prof. Audhesh Kumar Head and Convener welcomed the chief guest Satish Chandra Dwivedi with a bouquet and presented memento and shawl.

Dr. Sunita Srivastava welcomed Shri Rohit Manglik with a bouquet and presented memento and shawl.Prof. Ram Milan formally welcomed all the guests of the valedictory session. Dr. Ritu Narang hosted the valedictory function. The valedictory session began with the lighting of lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. Dr. Geetika T. Kapoor, Organizing Secretary presented the conference report.
In his address, Shri Satish Chandra Dwivedi Ji said that entrepreneurship is more practical than theoretical. He gave the example of Amazon’s founder as to how he created an online platform for availability of books for people across the world. He talked about the PM Shri Narendra Modi,s Atmanirbhar bharat mission during pandemic to strengthen the indigenous entrepreneurial base for tackling the Covid-19 crisis. Building entrepreneurial base requires not only money but knowledge, competencies and risk taking. The Indian demographic dividend must be realised. He praised our PM for his his Start-up India mission in helping a lot of budding entrepreneurs in terms of financial support so that they can start their own businesses. He gave a few examples of entrepreneurs who developed many creative ideas and implemented into practice thereby promoting employment generation. He further stated that we need to join rural and urban India into one for sustainable development and achieving entrepreneurial goals.
In his address, Shri Rohit Manglik shared his learnings of past 4 years and told that failure is important for success and growth. We should never leave our passion, we can work for some time for financial stability but then we should also try to work for our passion. Focus, passion and quotient are important factors for balanced growth and success. Constant evolution is necessary for any start-up to be successful.
In his Presidential address, Justice Dr. D.K. Arora Ji said that entrepreneurship is closely linked to social and economic growth and entrepreneurs can be considered as the engine of the society, therefore creating supply of entrepreneurs is very important. The work of Dept of commerce of University of Lucknow has an important role to play in the development of entrepreneurship in the city as well as the entire State.
In the two-days national seminar various reputed faculties, research scholars and students from different prestigious Universities participated and presented their research on topics such as: Entrepreneurship development, employment generation, corporate and social entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship and institutional support, digital entrepreneurship, microfinancing, MSME’s, Entrepreneurship and regional and community development, Women entrepreneurship and ODOP.
The seminar was inaugurated on 18th February 2021. In the inaugural session, Shri Brijesh Pathak Ji, hon’ble Cabinet minister, Legislative, Justice and Rural Engineering Service, Govt. of UP was the chief guest, Shri Kiron Chopra, the Chairman and Managing Director of Chopra Retec Rubber Products Ltd. was the special guest and Prof. Furquan Qamar from Jamil Milia Islamia was the keynote speaker. Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, hon’ble Vice Chancellor of University of Lucknow gave the Presidential address. The valedictory session concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sunita Srivastava CoOrganizing Secretary.
