Parineeta Borthakur made quite a ‘dhamakedaar’ entry in Madhu and Mahesh Pandey’s “Gupta Brothers: Chaar Kunware From Ganga Kinaare”. The show revolves around four bachelor brothers, who feel they are self-sufficient and don’t need any women in their lives. The actress said that the show is one of its kind and can be a game changer.

“I do think our show ‘Gupta Brothers: Chaar Kunware From Ganga Kinaare’ can be a game changer because it’s such a different kind of storyline. I hope people watch the show, because I am sure once they start watching it they won’t be able to stop. It’s very different from the rest of the daily soaps that we watch. It’s not only comedy, it’s not only drama, it’s a mixture of both and it is an exceptional blend of entertainment,” she said.

Parineeta’s character is called Mridula Roy who entered the show and the lives of the Gupta Brothers dancing to the tunes of “Aami je tomar” from “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”. Talking about her character, she said, “Mridula’s entry was quite a shocker for the Gupta Brothers because they don’t want any woman in their life and I am staying in their house.”

“The audience will have to wait and watch for the twists that I am going to bring in their lives. But yes, I am going to make their lives miserable because I have not only entered their house but their lives too,” she added.

The show was earlier called “Hum – Ek Makaan Ek Dukaan” and revolved around four brothers and their elder sister-in-law. However, post the lockdown the makers changed the storyline to make it a dramedy.

Parineeta thanked producer Mahesh Pandey for trusting her with this role, and said, “I want to thank Mahesh (Pandey) sir for this role and for the trust he has put in me because our story was different earlier and my character was very different. And this is completely different from the previous role.”

The actress has been a part of popular shows like “Swaragini” and “Bepannah”, to name a few. She stated that she feels blessed to have played a variety of characters on-screen.

“I consider myself very lucky because I have done a variety of roles, I have the ‘bechaari’ aurat also and the one who tortures too. I have played comic roles too. I take it as a blessing of god, maybe I am blessed,” she said. However, she mentioned that she loves to play characters that are just opposite of her real self.

“I like to play all the characters, whether it is positive, negative or comic. But I like to play something which is not like me, because I feel that’s more challenging. As an actor I love playing and experimenting with different kinds of roles,” she said.

Parineeta, lastly, asserted that the content on television is changing, and said, “There are a lot of shows which are coming up with good content. Though it has moved away from the kitchen politics, I feel family drama still works because people can relate to it.”

“That way the content of ‘Gupta Brothers: Chaar Kunware From Ganga Kinaare’ is very good because it’s not just a different story, it has family bonding, love, emotions and drama. So I am sure it will work,” she signed off. “Gupta Brothers: Chaar Kunware From Ganga Kinaare” features Hiten Tejwani, Satya Tiwari, Akash Mukherjee, Meet Mukhi, Sonal Vengulkar, and Rinku Dhawan. It airs on Star Bharat.
